Vibration Testing
LabTest Certification Inc. offers vibration testing using our single axis Electrodynamic Shaker System . This system offers a high force and displacement rating, which allows us to test according to the most stringent vibration profiles. Vibration and Shock capabilities are as follows:
- Sine/Random/Sine-on-Random/Random-on-Random Vibration testing:
- DC–3 to 4000Hz frequency range
- 60,000 N force rating
- 4 to 8 channel data logging; with our Spider 81 (Crystal Instruments) Vibration Controller System; 1 reference channel and up to 7 monitoring accelerometer channels
- Arrangements can be made to increase the number of accelerometer channels upon request
- Classical Shock Testing:
- Half-Sine/Terminal or Initial Peak Sawtooth/Triangle/Trapezoidal pulse shapes
- 120,000 N (newton) shock force rating
- Pre/Post shock profile compensation
- 4 to 8 channel data logging; with our Spider 81 (Crystal Instruments) Vibration Controller System; 1 reference channel and up to 7 monitoring accelerometer channels
- Arrangements can be made to increase the number of accelerometer channels upon request
- Temperature-Conditioned Vibration:
- All vibration and shock tests can also be performed at high and low temperatures by utilizing a thermal chamber specifically designed to fit over our shaker system. The thermal vibration chamber is capable of temperatures from -40°C to +85°C and can achieve very high rates of thermal change
Vibration testing can provide a range of useful information from the early research and development stage of a product through to the final design verification and/ or certification stages. Some of the useful benefits of performing vibration testing include:
- Demonstrate that a product complies with the criteria of various test specifications
- Identify resonant frequencies
- Verify that a product can physically withstand the expected vibration exposure of its life cycle.
- Verify that a product can operate throughout the expected vibration exposure of its life cycle
- Locate ‘weak links’ in the design during the development stage to identify where the most effective improvements can be made
- Generate maintenance schedules with confidence
